November in the Vegie Patch + My New Subscription Model Begins!

This month, dear friends, is the last month of the Edible Backyard newsletter as we know it. For 15 years I’ve been sending out all your edible backyard to-do’s + how-to’s on the 1st of each month, for free.

But the times they are a changing, and the internet landscape is very different now – gone are the days of free software and good deals, and if Edible Backyard is to continue, it needs to pay its way. So, without further ado – lets give this subscription model a go!

Here’s how it works

From today onwards, there are two versions of my monthly newsletter – a free one and a paid one.

The free one

Gets one article with all the veggie garden to do’s, as well as first dibs on talks and events. Access to all the veggie garden related articles in my library.

The paid one

Gets three articles – vegie garden to do’s, fruit tree to do’s + a how to or deep dive into a seasonal topic, as well as first dibs on talks and events. Access to all articles in my library.
To make this affordable and accessible to everyone there are two payment options.

  • $5 a month/ $60 a year
  • $15 a month/ $180 a year

You choose the one that works for you. Both get the same content.

What’s next.

You are all currently subscribed on the free version, so if that’s where you want to stay – nothing to do!
If you want to upgrade to the paid version, simply hit the ‘upgrade my subscription’ button.

You will need to sign in and make an account – I’m so sorry for the extra admin, it’s annoying, I know, but unavoidable. The cool thing is that being signed in enables you to ask questions.

Yours in the earth,
❤️ Kath

PS Please forgive us any broken links or absent photos. We are working our patooties off to sort and clean all 200 posts, so that by December 1st (fingers crossed), all is sorted. K x

PPS I hope you enjoy the new library as much as I enjoyed making it!

November In The Vegie Patch + Greenhouse

The most important mission this month is planting out long term crops like kumara, yams, pumpkins and peppers – drop everything else and get them in the ground! Yams need about 6 months to fatten up, kumara and sweet peppers need 4 – 5 warm months and pumpkins 4 –

November Fruit Tree To Do List

November is when the summer fruits really get a roll on. Your daily (or every other day) walk saves the crop by alerting you to the first sign of birds (chuck a net on!), pests or disease, as well as any fruit thinning that needs doing. * Catch green vegetable bugs
