This week is unusual because I’ve shot two videos, rather than just one. That’s because I have a very timely tip regarding peach leaf curl and NOW is the time to implement it!
Peach leaf curl is a fungal disease that attacks the leaves of peach and nectarine trees. Perhaps you’ve seen leaves with red blotches on them, or leaves that are curly or puckered. There’s an easy way to help prevent this disease and protect your future peach and nectarine harvests.
Just apply copper fungicide to the branches while the trees are DORMANT. That means no leaves or flower buds. If your trees are still dormant, you should apply the fungicide to them right away. I also spray fungicide on the branches in the fall, once they trees have dropped all their leaves. Do NOT apply fungicide while the trees are actively growing!
I prefer to use the premixed Captain Jack’s Copper Fungicide. As I mention in this short video, it’s easy to find in most garden centers. But if you live out in the sticks or your garden center doesn’t carry it, I have a solution for you. I have an Amazon store at this link. Once you’re there, go to the “Organic Gardening Products” category and you’ll see the spray right there. It’s not expensive and yes, it’s organic.
