OUR HABITAS RAS ABROUQ OPENS HUMO, A NEW FIRE-LED INSPIRED BY ARABIC CULINARY TRADITIONSRESTAURANT

Our Habitas Ras Abrouq announces the opening of HUMO, a new restaurant celebrating the flavours and culinary traditions of the Middle East through fire-led cooking and shared dining. Situated along the Arabian Gulf at the edge of the UNESCO-protected Al Reem Biosphere Reserve, just over an hour from Doha, the restaurant is surrounded by Qatar’s striking limestone dunes, tranquil waters and expansive desert landscape. Bringing together regional ingredients, bold flavours and the tradition of coming together over food, HUMO introduces a relaxed dining experience rooted in Arabic hospitality.

Taking its name from the Spanish word for smoke, HUMO draws inspiration from the culinary heritage of the Levant and wider Middle East, with fire at the heart of its offering. The menu explores different cooking techniques, from charcoal grilling and plancha to sautéing, each bringing out distinct textures and flavours. Familiar regional ingredients and seasonings, including za’atar, sumac, baharat and pomegranate molasses, are featured throughout, reflecting the diverse influences of Arabic cuisine.

Designed around a personalised dining experience, HUMO invites guests to select their preferred ingredients, seasonings and cooking methods. The menu features a selection of meats and seafood, including beef tenderloin kebab, lamb chops, chicken shish tawook, seasonal fish, tiger prawns and scallops. These can be paired with flavours such as chermoula, za’atar and lemon, baharat butter or pomegranate dibs, alongside traditional accompaniments including saffron Arabic rice, batata harra, grilled vegetables and za’atar corn.

Led by newly appointed Executive Chef David Ayrault, the restaurant offers an unlimited dining concept that encourages guests to explore the menu at their own pace, discover different combinations, and revisit their favourite dishes throughout the evening. Rooted in the generosity of Arabic hospitality, the experience places an emphasis on sharing, bringing people together around food in a welcoming and informal setting.

The opening of HUMO builds on Our Habitas’ approach to hospitality, where food, culture and shared experiences create opportunities for meaningful human connection. The restaurant offers guests another way to experience the destination, with a dining concept inspired by the culinary traditions of the region.

HUMO is open every Thursday and Friday from 6:30pm to 10:30pm. The unlimited dining experience is priced at QAR 380 per person, including soft beverages, with a 50% discount for children aged 6 to 12.
