Marking the second anniversary of Majlis by Pierre Hermé, Rosewood Abu Dhabi proudly unveils Sahar, an exclusive signature macaron and pastry imagined by Pierre Hermé exclusively for the property. More than a new creation, Sahar commemorates two years of a partnership rooted in craftsmanship, creativity and a shared admiration for the culture, flavours and spirit of Abu Dhabi.
Since opening in 2024, Majlis by Pierre Hermé has embodied Rosewood’s A Sense of Place® philosophy, bringing together French pastry artistry and the cultural richness of Abu Dhabi. Inspired by the destination’s heritage and contemporary energy, the collaboration reflects Rosewood’s belief that people and place enrich one another. Through creations inspired by local flavours and traditions, guests are invited to discover Abu Dhabi through the pillars of Place, Culture and Taste. The result is a culinary experience that celebrates craftsmanship while fostering a deeper connection to the destination.
A TRIBUTE TO THE FLAVOURS OF THE REGION
Created exclusively for Rosewood Abu Dhabi, Sahar celebrates the flavours and traditions that define the region. Inspired by two ingredients deeply embedded in Middle Eastern culinary heritage, pistachio and saffron, the creation brings together the richness of roasted pistachio and the delicate floral warmth of saffron, resulting in a flavour profile that is both familiar and intriguingly unexpected.
Available as both a signature macaron and an intricately crafted pastry, Sahar presents two interpretations of the same narrative. The macaron pairs saffron ganache with pistachio praline, while the pastry layers pistachio shortbread, pistachio praline, saffron-soaked biscuit, smooth pistachio cream and saffron mascarpone cream. Reflecting Rosewood Abu Dhabi’s commitment to meaningful discovery, Sahar reinterprets the flavours of the region through exceptional craftsmanship, offering a refined expression of Abu Dhabi’s culinary identity.
A STORY THAT CONTINUES TO UNFOLD
Over the past two years, Majlis by Pierre Hermé has established itself as a landmark culinary destination within Rosewood Abu Dhabi, bringing together the renowned artistry of Pierre Hermé Paris and the gracious hospitality that defines the region. What began as a pioneering collaboration has evolved into an ongoing creative dialogue, inspired by the culture, traditions and contemporary spirit of Abu Dhabi. Through thoughtfully crafted creations and locally inspired experiences, the partnership celebrates Rosewood’s commitment to connecting guests more deeply with the destination through culture, craftsmanship and taste.
“What began as a shared vision has grown into one of the most distinctive culinary destinations in Abu Dhabi. As the home of Pierre Hermé’s first presence in the capital, Majlis by Pierre Hermé represents a partnership built on creativity, craftsmanship and a deep appreciation for culture and place. Seeing its evolution over the past two years has been incredibly rewarding. We are especially proud to celebrate this milestone with Sahar, our exclusive signature macaron and pastry, which captures both the spirit of Majlis and the continued journey of innovation that defines this remarkable collaboration.”
REMUS PALIMARU, MANAGING DIRECTOR OF ROSEWOOD ABU DHABI
“For the creation of Sahar, I wanted to bring together two familiar ingredients deeply rooted in Middle Eastern culinary traditions: pistachio and saffron. The aromatic richness of lightly roasted pistachio meets the deep, floral notes of saffron in a combination that feels as unexpected as it is seamless. Available as a macaron, an individual pastry, and a sharing dessert, Sahar offers a unique tasting experience where every flavour achieves perfect balance. An exclusive creation reimagined for Rosewood Abu Dhabi.”
PIERRE HERMÉ, FOUNDER OF PIERRE HERMÉ PARIS
